Rowlands favourite for Wales captaincy

Dan Biggar will miss next month’s autumn series leaving Wales to appoint a new captain for the four matches starting against New Zealand.
Will Rowlands’ rapid rise from Test novice to automatic choice gives the former Wasp a strong case to be the No. 1 contender for the vacancy caused by Biggar’s latest knee trouble.
Rather than rush Northampton’s 105-Test flyhalf back too soon, Wales will reluctantly rule him out. The announcement of their squad on Tuesday could well bring official confirmation of Rowlands’ elevation as due recognition of his leadership.
