A late penalty try from hosts Benetton concluded Edinburgh’s disappointing pre-season with another defeat after last week’s embarrassing loss to London Scottish.
The visitors made a bright start, as Ben Vellacott burst down the blindside from a driving maul on the 22, before offloading to Chris Dean who coasted over unchallenged in the corner.
Benetton equalised with Gianmarco Lucchesi barrelling over from close range, but Edinburgh led again as Ben Muncaster crossed after some strong phases from his pack.
