Farrell: Without doubt, this is the proudest I’ve been as part of a group

Ireland coach Andy Farrell thinks a subtle change of mindset contributed to Ireland’s historic series win. 

“We talked about this being the start of a World Cup year and it was never, ever mentioned about it being an end-of-season tour,” he said.

“We dusted ourselves down and got on with the job and you could see the freshness of these lads. Some of them hadn’t played for nearly eight weeks when we arrived. We had three days of camp before we left for these shores and it was back together like that.

They’re a special group and they deserve everything they get.
