England hooker Rob Webber could be sidelined until the New Year after undergoing a second shoulder operation.
The new Bath signing has not played since March after tearing his rotator cuff muscle during England‘s Six Nations win over France.
The 26-year-old, who moved from Wasps to the Rec this summer, was selected by Stuart Lancaster in England’s Elite Player Squad for the 2012/13 season.
Harlequins hooker Joe Gray, Leicester’s Tom Youngs and London Irish’s David Paice will be the main contenders to replace him in the EPS for the Autumn internationals.
