Attwood, Cloete add beef to Bath

DAVE Attwood will re-join from Bears at the end of the season.

Second row Attwood began his career at Bristol in 2007 before moving to in 2009 and then Bath in 2011. The 35-year-old represented Bath 157 times before moving to West Country rivals Bristol three years ago.

Bath chief executive Tarquin McDonald said: “Dave's return to The Rec will be widely welcomed, and he will certainly bring power to our pack.”

Attwood said: “It's great to return to Bath and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play at The Rec once again.”

Bath are also signing 's South African flanker Chris Cloete for next season.

Cloete, who has spent five years at the URC side, played for Southern Kings, Western Province and the Pumas in his homeland before moving to Europe.

He has made eight appearances this season, scoring five tries, including one in each of his first three matches.

McDonald added: “Chris will bring a new dimension to an impressive group of back row forwards, as we maintain our primary recruitment focus of adding power to the pack for next season.”
