Women fought off a second half fightback to record a 34-27 victory over Loughborough Lightning in the Allianz Cup.

Warriors will now have to wait on the result of the postponed versus fixture to see if they have reached the semi-finals.

Akina Gondwe put Warriors ahead midway through the first half with a pick and go, before Bryony Field levelled the scores moments later from a driving maul.

legend Laura Keates and promising wing Evie England scored a quickfire double to put Warriors in the ascendancy at 17-5. However, Charli Jacoby crossed for Lightning to set up an exciting second period. Amy Pyle was sent off for Lightning after a collision with Jade Shekell.
