ON THE BLIND SIDE
SEMI Radradra could be the next player to leave Bristol in a fire sale as they desperately scramble to get under the salary cap next season.
Blindside reported last week that the Bears had missed the deadline to exercise get-out clauses in the contracts of several members of their first-team squad. Missing the deadline meant six players who signed two-year plus one deals in August 2020 saw the third season kick in. It emerged that Bristol need to reduce their wage bill by £400,000.
The Bears have already announced they are bringing in England prop Ellis Genge, Sale fly-half AJ MacGinty and Scotland back row Magnus Bradbury.
Former England lock Dave Attwood became the first player to leave Ashton Gate this week joining Bath on a two-year contract.
It has been rumoured that former All Black full-back Charles Piutau, one of over 30 players to sign a new deal in August 2020, could be moving on at the end of the season.
Piutau is believed to be the highest-paid player in the Premiership and was earning £1 million a season when he joined from Ulster in 2018.
We reported in February that Fiji star Radradra, 29, had been sounded out about a move to Japan, and it was claimed last week that he was in Bordeaux. Radradra is believed to earn around £500,000 a season and joined the Bears from Bordeaux in 2020.
