Entry has open to this year’s Rugby Photographer of the Year competition, which comes with a £1,000 first prize for the winning image.
Now in its second edition, the competition is open to amateur and professional photographers and covers everything from grassroots to elite, minis to vets, with all shortlisted entries appearing in an exhibition at the World Rugby Museum, Twickenham as well as in a special edition of Rugby Journal.
Backed by Keith Prowse Hospitality and organised by rugby print quarterly, the Rugby Journal, the last winning entry – currently on display at the World Rugby Museum – was by Italian photographer Daniele Colucciello whose image captured the Ampthill National One title-chasing team in the changing rooms before they faced rivals Old Elthamians.

There’s six categories to enter: Landscape, Portrait, Action, Portfolio, Spirit of Rugby and Young photographer, open to photographers aged 17 and under.
Entry closes on 31st March, 2022, with a selection of entries appearing in the March edition of Rugby Journal. The full list of judges will be announced next week, but include Brian Moore, Rocky Clark, photographer Rick Guest, England Rugby marketing director Ewan Turney in a 12-person panel, chaired by Rugby Journal’s Editor-in-Chief Alex Mead.
