Former Wales prop Buchanan joins race for return to WRU

ANTHONY Buchanan is standing for a return to the Welsh Rugby Union 18 months after stepping down as a National Representative.
The former Llanelli and Wales prop has put his name forward to fill the post vacated by his successor, Liza Burgess, who has left her post as vice-chairman to take up a coaching role within the union.
The 66-year-old Buchanan spent five years on the main board at the WRU after joining Gareth Davies in ousting the sitting chairman, David Pickering, in the battle for two national Representative seats in September 2014.
