SALE Sharks have four players called Du Preez on their books but could have one fewer from the start of next season with lock JP out of contract this summer.
Glasgow Warriors are eying up a move for Du Preez, who is no relation to the other three players, all brothers, plying their trade at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Giant lock JP who stands at 6ft 10ins, moved to the Sharks in November 2020 from the Cheetahs on a two-year deal, and Glasgow have opened talks with him.
Du Preez, who was the tallest player ever to be registered in Super Rugby, has been a regular for Sharks despite missing the playoffs last season through suspension.
The 26-year-old who hails from Roodepoort, Gauteng, started his career with the Lions six years ago before moving to the Cheetahs in 2018. Now his next stop looks like being the Warriors where boss Danny Wilson is looking at his recruitment for next season and has made signing a giant lock a priority.
He is set for more talks with Du Preez.
