Debenture scheme helps Chiefs kick on off the field

EXETER have launched a debenture scheme to help fund the new East Stand at Sandy Park after the pandemic blew a hole in the finances of what had been the Premiership’s only profitable club.
Tony Rowe, the Chiefs’ chief executive and chairman, said the lack of crowds and inability to use Sandy Park as a conference centre because of the Covid-19 restrictions meant they had to tap into a reserve fund set aside for the ground development – which will raise Sandy Park’s capacity to 15,600 – as well as borrow £12m.
