Australia 23-21 France: France pay for lineout calamity

FRANCE’s bad habits of old came back to bite them as an errant pass from a last-minute lineout cost them a first Test victory in Australia since 1990.
France led from the sixth minute until the blunder in the dying seconds allowed Noah Lolesio to kick a penalty in stoppage time to take the comeback win in the first of three matches in 11 days between the teams.
France won a defensive lineout and should have kicked for touch to end the game and clinch the win, but the ball went loose and Australia’s replacement scrum-half Tate McDermott pounced on it to set up a dramatic finish.
