Redistribute funds to aid grassroots says Maynard

PREMIERSHIP Rugby must be made to share the pain of RFU funding cuts to protect the community game, says Bournville RFC managing director Phil Maynard.
Last year, community rugby suffered a £5m drop in funding as part of a drive by the governing body to reduce costs due to heavy shortfalls in their budget, while, more recently, Championship sides were left reeling after the RFU announced their funding would be slashed.
