Champs can play on after Euro fine

DEFENDING champions Saracens will remain in this year’s European Champions Cup after being fined for fielding an ineligible player.
Saracens had faced a points deduction after admitting Titi Lamositele’s work permit expired the day their win against Racing 92.
But an independent disciplinary committee chose to impose a fine of 50,000 euros (£42,000). Half of the fine is suspended until the end of the 2020/21 season.
A European points deduction could have moved Saracens out of the eighth quarter-final qualification spot.
