Ambitious Ampthill just keep on getting promoted

AMPTHILL rugby director Mark Lavery admits being ‘surprised’ by the quality of players looking to join if promotion to the Championship is confirmed.
Ampthill require one point from this Saturday’s trip to relegated Loughborough to take the National One title and complete a remarkable 12-year rise from Midlands 3 East (South) to rugby’s second tier.
