Liam Williams’s move to Saracens confirmed

Saracens RFC

Saracens have confirmed the signing of Wales international Liam Williams on a three-year deal.

Williams, who has won 38 caps for Wales since his debut in 2012, has emerged as one of the game’s finest attacking players and can play full-back and wing.

The Morriston born player has been an ever present for Wales in 2016, starring in the RBS Six Nations and recent Autumn International series for Warren Gatland’s side.

He has made 100 appearances for the Scarlets since making his debut in 2011 and will join Saracens in the summer of 2017.

Williams is Saracens’ second signing for the 2017 season joining France hooker Christopher Tolofua at Allianz Park next season.

He said: “I am really excited about joining Saracens and having the opportunity to challenge myself in the Aviva Premiership. The club’s reputation speaks for itself and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career.

“I wouldn’t be the player I am without the incredible support from the Scarlets’ management, players, back-room staff and passionate supporters. I will be giving my all for the remainder of the season and hope to help finish on a high.”

Director of rugby Mark McCall added: “Liam’s arrival at Allianz Park next season is fantastic news. He is only 25-years old and has his best years of rugby ahead of him.

“Liam is arguably one of the most talented backs in Europe so to have secured his signing is real coup for the Club. We’ll look forward to welcoming him in the summer.”
