Wales thumped by the Chiefs

Wales were embarrassed by the Chiefs this morning losing 40-7 to the Super Rugby franchise four days before their second Test against the All Blacks.
Warren Gatland’s side, which showed 14 changes from the one that lost the opening Test on Saturday, conceded three tries in each half as Brad Weber, Tom Sanders, Dominic Bird, James Lowe, Toni Pulu and Sam McNicol all crossed.
Kristian Dacey scored ‘ sole try in the second half but Gatland will be looking for a much-improved performance on Saturday as his side look to level the Series in Wellington.
“We were second best by a long way,” said Gatland. “It probably answered a few question in terms of players who have been knocking on our door in terms of why they wanted an opportunity at Test match level.
“There were a lot of fringe players out there against the Chiefs trying to put a hand up and make a statement. Unfortunately that didn’t happen.
“There will be a lot of changes for Saturday. We have spoken about what was good from the first 60 minutes last weekend (in the first Test) and talked about going for the whole 80.”
