Sade Francais forwards Laurent Sempéré and Paul Gabrillagues have today been suspended for gouging offences on Leicester’s Marcos Ayerza and Dan Cole.
The former will be banned for 15 weeks while lock Gabrillagues will miss the next eight weeks.
While Gabrillagues pleaded guilty to the offence, Sempéré didn’t not accept he’d committed the act of foul play on Pumas star Ayerza.
But backed by a written statement and photos evidence showing abrasions around Ayerza’s eye, the judicial officer was satisfied Sempéré was guilty and banned him.
Only two weeks ago, his teammate Josaia Raisuqe was also banned for 15 weeks for a nasty gouge on Munster captain CJ Stander.
