Broken jaw confirmed for Owen Williams

Owen Williams will be out for up to eight weeks after Richard Cockerill confirmed the fly-half suffered a double fracture in Saturday’s East Midlands derby against Northampton.
This is the second time this season the Tigers lose a fly-half to a fractured jaw after Freddie Burns suffered a similar injury in pre-season.
“Owen has had surgery and the injury is obviously very disappointing for him and for us because he has been playing well,” said Tigers director of rugby Cockerill.
“It’s unfortunate for Owen, but we have Freddie Burns and Tommy Bell available at fly-half and they’ve been playing well too.”
There is also bad news for flanker Brendon O’Connor who limped off early in the game against Saints. A hamstring injury was confirmed and he will be out of action for several weeks.
