Wasps bring in James Downey

James Downey has joined on loan from Warriors for the remainder of the season as cover for injured centres Chris Bell and Alapati Leiua.
Downey, who previously represented and Saints, said: “I can't wait, it's obviously exciting times here at Wasps and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting some game-time and trying to help the team continue to put pressure on the top four in the .
“The players here are really positive and have been in great form. They've been very welcoming and now I just need to work hard, learn the calls and hopefully I can fit in seamlessly. It's a good chance to have another go in the and I'm looking forward to playing in front of some of the big crowds at the Ricoh Arena in the coming weeks.”
Meanwhile, Andy Titterrell, who joined the Club this season as part-time strength and conditioning and skills coach, has signed a new part-time contract with the rugby department for the remainder of this season and next season. Titterrell will now concentrate on the coaching side, rather than splitting his time between conditioning and coaching.
The former hooker said: “I'm really happy to have signed a new contract with Wasps. I'm learning my trade as a coach and am really lucky to have some very good coaches to learn from in Dai [Young], Brad [Davis] and Stephen [Jones].
“We've got a great set of boys here and when you look at the players we're bringing in as well, it's a really exciting time to be at Wasps. There's only one way I can see the squad going and that's up, so it's great to be a part of this Club moving forward.
“The role I originally had, incorporated a bit of strength and conditioning and working with the hookers and observing some of the line-out traits. The role evolved and I felt that a lot my strengths moving forwards was suited more to forward play.
“I will hopefully be able to pass on some of my experience and knowledge from my playing days, focussing on attention to detail to show players the pictures they are trying to see, which will hopefully enhance the whole unit.”
Finally, back-row Buster Lawrence has returned to Moseley on loan until the end of the season. This was at his request as he was keen to get some more game time.
