Gear inspires Barbarians win over England XV

Hosea Gear scored two late tries to help the to a 39-29 win over XV at Twickenham this afternoon.
Head coach Dean Ryan revealed in the lead up to the game the invitational were keen to ‘restore some pride' in the invitational side's jersey after the debacle of last year against England at HQ and the in Hong Kong and they did just that scoring five tries against a young England XV.
The home side had the better start however with No.8 Dave Ewers going over inside the first five minutes and, although Benson Stanley and Juan Martin Hernandez got a try each either side of one from Charlie Sharples, it was England who took a 18-14 lead at the break thanks to the boot of and Elliot Daly.
Georgian giant Mamuka Gorgodze put the BaaBaas in front for the first time early in the second half with Brock James slotting the conversion and a penalty.
Slade reduced the gap with a try of his own but Gear then stepped in with a double in the last 20 minutes and the game was won for the Barbarians.
