Leicester thump Exeter to reamain fourth

Leicester remained in fourth place in the table with a 45-15 thumping of Exeter at Welford Road.
In what was the Tigers best performance of the season, three tries in each half did the damage against the recent LV=Cup winners who had big hopes at the start of the game.
Manu Tuilagi and Longi’i Mulipola went over in the opening stages of the game to give the hosts a 12-3 commending lead after only 13 minutes.
Hooker Jack Yeandle closed the gap for the Chiefs but a Niki Goneva, who was busy as ever, responded two minutes later with his ninth try of the season to see Leicester lead 25-10 at the break.
Adam Thompstone put the game to bed ten minutes into the second half securing the try bonus point before frenchman David Mele came off the bench to score twice either side of one from Ian Whitten for Exeter.
