Peter O’Mahony faces a battle to be fit in time to take on Italy in Dublin on March 8.
The Ireland flanker suffered a hamstring strain in Saturday’s 13-10 defeat to England and the IRFU confirmed the 24-year-old will have to be monitored next week when he comes back to training.
Despite missing out on the Triple Crown and a potential Grand Slam the Irish remain at the top of the Six Nations’ table and are in prime position to win their first Six Nations since 2009.
