Bath beat Northampton to win A-League title

Bath United claimed a 29-20 win over the Northampton Wanderers at Franklin’s Gardens to lift the A-League trophy last night.
A try under the posts from Tom Biggs put the West Country side in the lead while Gavin Henson made it 17-3 after he went over in the corner.
But a brilliant effort from England U20s winger Howard Packman and a penalty try for the Wanderers meant the score was levelled at 17-17 at the break.
Charlie Beech edged Bath in front but Glenn Dickson’s penalty brought the home side within striking range and set up a tense finish.
Bath had the final say though as Richard Lane sealed the win in the last minute following a storming break from Tom Dunn.
