Paul Sackey joins Harlequins

Harlequins announced today that Paul Sackey has joined the club as injury dispensation cover for Ross Chisholm who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the pool stages of the JP Morgan 7s tournament.
Sackey, 33, returns to London after three seasons in France where he played for Toulon and Stade Francais.
Before moving across the Channel the former England international established his reputation as a fast, consistent try-scoring winger with London Irish and London Wasps for whom he made 113 and 180 appearances respectively.
Sackey made his international debut against New Zealand in 2006 and made a total of 22 appearances for his country scoring 11 tries, including playing in the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He also played for the England Saxons and Sevens teams.
Confirming the signing Harlequins Director of Rugby Conor O'Shea said, “With the unfortunate injuries to Ross Chisholm and Ollie Lindsay-Hague, together with the almost certain loss of Mike Brown to international duty in the Autumn, to get the chance to sign a player of Paul Sackey's experience and ability is great for the club.
“Paul is in good shape and I know how much he still wants to succeed.  He wants to return to London after his time in France and finish his career on a high in his home country,” said director of rugby Conor O'Shea.
“I'm sure that together with our other experienced wingers, Ugo Monye and Tom Williams, he will pass on his extensive experience to the other young outside backs we have here.
“While I enjoyed my time in France, I wanted to return to England to finish my career, to be given the chance to do so at Harlequins is very exciting for me,” said Paul Sackey.
“As a Londoner I know the club and its players very well and have admired the club's style of play over recent seasons. I'm looking forward to being a part of the squad as it seeks to continue its recent trophy-winning run.”
