IRB to appeal James Horwill decision

The International Rugby Board has today confirmed it will appeal the James Horwill disciplinary decision following an extensive review of the case.
captain Horwill was cited for stamping on British & Irish lock Alun-Wyn Jones during the first Test in Brisbane last Saturday but he was cleared to play to following day by Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC sparking outrage from the British media and fans.
However, as the Lions Tour falls within the scope of the IRB they have the right to appeal any decision arising from matches.
The appeal will be heard by Canadian Graeme Mew following the second Test between Australia and the . Horwill is free to play pending the outcome of the appeal.
