It’s time to get rid of these flat passes

MUCH discussion, and rightly so, recently about concussion and brain related injuries and once again I find myself pondering on rugby’s ability to shoot itself in the foot with unintended consequences from law changes or changes in rugby style.
I was watching some footage online from the 70s featuring Beziers and Narbonne, neither of whom could accurately be described as shrinking violets when it came to the physical stakes. As usual though, with 70s and indeed most of 80s and 90s, what strikes you most is the textbook, legal passing.
