Room 101: Dave Fairbrother – Fylde back-rower

Dave Fairbrother1. Flies
I hate it when a fly touches you out of nowhere and then flies off without you being able to do anything about it. I served in Afghanistan for the Marines and they are everywhere out there. I used to have an electric fly squatter, which was fun to use and more accurate than my attempts to shoot them! I'm getting annoyed just thinking about them. Get rid!
TRP verdict: No wonder you like smashing fly-halves!
2. Vegans
My mum has always been a vegetarian but she became a vegan five years ago, which makes life very difficult when you're dining out because you have to be very careful which restaurants you choose. I was a vegetarian too until I got to high school and rebelled. To be honest, I don't think you'd last too long being a vegan in the Marines although they do cater for lots of different things. I'm a bit of a foodie myself and love to cook. Honey-roasted chicken is one of my specialities but unfortunately my mum will never get to taste how delicious it is!
TRP verdict: No need to milk it!
3. Snoring
My loathing of snoring comes from my dad who used to keep me awake at night when I lived back home. Luckily he hasn't passed that down to me as I don't snore, 100%. My girlfriend can vouch for that. Paul Arnold, the coach, is pretty bad. He's always sleeping and you can even hear him from the back of the team bus on long road trips.
TRP verdict: You can sleep easy knowing this is going in.
