Being released by Harlequins at 16 gave me the motivation to become a professional rugby player.
At the time, it was difficult to take. I had been part of the academy, rugby was what I wanted to do with my life and suddenly I was being told they did not think I was good enough.
Rather than allowing it to finish the dream, I used it as fuel.
I listened to the feedback, worked on my physicality and skills and became determined to prove there was another route into the professional game.
