I don't think many people who played with me at Harlequins would have predicted I’d end up becoming an international referee. The moment I realised refereeing might become my future was when I started looking at officials differently as a player.
Up until then, I’d spent most of my career doing what scrum halves do best – staying fully engaged and focusing on my own view of the game.
