The former Exeter Chiefs number eight talks about his life in the game

When I made my Exeter debut against Fylde as a 17-year-old in October 1997, we had just come up from Division 3 into Allied Dunbar Premiership 2. That was the first of my 431 appearances for Exeter.
The geographical spread of clubs around the country seemed to be vaster then, and after coming off the bench at Fylde, I made my first start at West Hartlepool, another long journey and about as far as you could get from Devon!
