While the major nations were battling for sporting immortality at the Rugby World Cup, the tier two nations were busy winning the hearts of fans around the world for their performances, often against incredible odds.

Fiji were able to reach the knockout stages, there were major milestones for Portugal and Chile, as well as some momentous individual displays. We’ve had a crack at assembling a tier two line-up that would have any tier one side looking nervously over their shoulder.
