For those of us of a certain age there were possibly two global stories that dominated our adolescence – and my God we were battered from pillar to post with some logic defying stuff in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The first was the extraordinary Apollo moon shots, notably the groundbreaking Apollo 8 mission of Christmas 1968, the successful Moon landing in 1969 and then the Apollo 13 rescue mission in 1970. What a time to be alive and witness it in real time.
