VERY sad to hear that Eddie Butler has died. He was a great player who moved seamlessly into broadcasting.
My fondest memory of him is when he made me the first ever player to be trialled by video evidence back in 1990 when Argentina prop
Federico Mendez was sent off for punching Paul Ackford, pleading mitigating circumstances that I had stamped on him.
Eddie showed the whole event on Rugby Special the next day and commentated on every action.
