ON THE BLIND SIDE
FORMER Ireland U20 international and London Irish back row Conor Gilsenan last week saw his dreams of a business partnership with Lord Sugar disappear.
Gilsenan, below, who was forced to retire from playing in September 2020 because of medical reasons, hoped to land investment in a business from grumpy Sugar by winning The Apprentice.
But the 29-yearold who started his career at Leinster with a loan spell at Connacht before spending six seasons with the Exiles, lasted only two weeks on the show before being kicked into touch.
Hardly seen on a cruise ship task on week one, he ran aground designing a child's toothbrush with a digital mascot named “Wiffy the Wizard”.
Gilsenan has been working as a sales executive for FIS, global leaders for financial technology, and has a mobile bar business with former teammate Topsy Ojo.
The 301 bar is a mobile bar for sporting and music events found at Exiles home games. Ojo said on Twitter he thought Sugar made the wrong decision.
