ROOM 101: SAM DICKINSON

ROOM 101

THE LOOSE FORWARD AND FORMER , AND EALING PLAYER TAKES US THROUGH HIS PET HATES FROM THE RUGBY WORLD AND BEYOND

1. Forceful Opinions Age old. Everyone has one, everyone thinks theirs is right. W hen people try to force t heir point of view and stop listening to others and the reasons behind why they have an opposing opinion, everything from communication to society can break down. Listen and empathise , it's ok to disagree !

TRP VERDICT: It would be interesting to leave this one out just to see how you'd react. It's only our opinion!

2. On-field gobshites In politer terms, I mean the guy on the other team who won't shut up even when being soundly beaten. Back and forth on the pitch is part of the fun of the game, but there's always one guy who doesn't know when he 's beat and can't keep his mouth shut. Pointing at the scoreboard is point -less to these offenders, they just can't give it up. Dave Ward was defi -nitely a bad one for on-field chat.

TRP VERDICT: To give it a golf analogy, this one hasn't ‘lipped' out.

3. Untidiness I hate thin gs being left untidy in rugby and in life generally. Tidy house, tidy mind is the rule of thumb I live by. From a r ugby perspect ive, there is nothing worse than a messy changing room be ing left for a club man to clean up. Caldy have a rota for a pair of players to bru sh up after a home game. Away games can be a challenge!

TRP VERDICT: Now you're really starting to sweep up!
