LA ROCHELLE scored a PR own goal this week when they refused to put up Ronan O’Gara, right, for media duties ahead of their Champions Cup clash with Leinster.
European Club Rugby’s media chiefs were flooded with interview requests, particularly from across the Irish Sea.
But the Top 14 outfit refused all pleas from the organisers for the former Ireland and Lions star to do an English language conference call.
Jono Gibbes, who is leaving the club at the end of the season and worked as a forwards coach at Leinster, took part ahead of the semi-final showdown instead.
