Hugh Tizard could reasonably be described as a new-age lock who combines immense physique with the skills of an inside-back – hardly surprising since he began life as a fly-half, then played centre before a growth spurt aged 14 took him into the second row.
Five years on, Guildford-born Tizard is knocking on the firstteam door at Harlequins having made a solid early-season impression in the Championship with London Scottish as he looks to make good on the potential he showed as a hot prospect at Cranleigh School.
