Sexton’s fit as a fiddle …but silent

UP INGlasgow the other day, Johnny Sexton marked the launch of another PRO14 season by declaring himself in an unusually unmarked state of fitness.
“This is the best I’ve felt in a good few years,’’ he said. “I finished up in Australia fully fit and was able to look after myself better on holiday as a result.’’ Fully fit he may be but Leinster’s new captain will not be in action when the champions open their title defence in Cardiff on Friday night.
