INEVER feared for my life when playing for Wales, except when I went to Argentina. We had a two-Test tour to face the Pumas in 2006 and things didn’t go well on the field. We were beaten 2-0 and had a bit of a pumping in one of the games, but that’s not my overriding memory.
In Tucuman that year we were told by hotel workers in the venue we were staying in that we should not leave the premises after 6pm because it was highly likely we would be mugged or killed.
