THE Hurricanes became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after they got past the Chiefs 32-31 in an epic quarter-final at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium on Friday night.
Led by new England cap Brad Shields, Hurricanes dominated the middle of the match to set up a semifinal with the Crusaders.
Shields said his side’s defence out wide was key. “Our big boys dominating those collisions gives you energy and drive and I think that part of it we did really well,” he said.
