Smith does enough to give England hope

Bright spark: Marcus Smith

Considering this was the first away game for Marcus Smith in an England jersey, and with a noisy, hostile Murrayfield crowd to boot, he played well and I don’t think that game exposed any of his weaknesses.
That was largely on account of the England forwards doing a good job at supplying quick ball. I was a bit dubious with the back row Eddie Jones selected but Sam Simmonds, Lewis Ludlam and Tom Curry all carried well which provided a good cushion for Ben Youngs at scrum-half and, in turn, gave Smith a bit more time.
