THE political posturing over player release for the Lions fixture against Japan is such a shame, with PRL taking the position that no English players will be released by the clubs for a Lions match on the same day as the Premiership final.
Lions head coach Warren Gatland is entitled to say his piece about their absence being potentially damaging to the hopes of the English players he selects, but all this stuff usually boils down to financial compensation, and hopefully PRL and the Lions find the right solution quickly.
