Experienced winger Juan Imhoff is one of four players to come in for Argentina, as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Australia in the second round of the Rugby Championship.
Argentina led 26-17 with twenty minutes remaining last week, but poor discipline in the final quarter of the match cost them dearly as Australia scored 24 unanswered points to snatch victory.
It felt like a missed opportunity for Argentina to get off to a strong start in the competition, especially when considering how strong they were in the final quarter of both their victories against Scotland in the 2-1 series win in July.
Though new boss Michael Cheika is by no means under the pressure of fellow Championship coach Ian Foster, but a second defeat to the Wallabies on home soil will surely see them finish bottom in the table for the ninth time in ten editions of the tournament.
Thomas Gallo comes in on the loosehead prop, swapping in for Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, but that is the sole change in the forwards with the big changes coming in the backline.
Dragons RFC’s Gonzalo Bertranou starts at scrum-half, with Tomás Cubelli amongst the subs, while Matías Moroni replaces his namesake Orlando, the latter dropping out of the squad entirely.
Imhoff comes in on the left-wing, pushing Emiliano Boffelli to the right and seeing Santiago Cordero also miss out on the 23.
In addition, Facundo Isa and Lucio Cinti are promoted to the bench, as Cheika looks to get more out of his “finishers” than he did last week.
