Harlequins call in their international cavalry

PREVIEW… v Today, Kick-off 3pm, live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website and app

CHAMPIONS Harlequins have beefed up their side for the challenge against last season's beaten finalists.

Head coach Gerard Mullen makes six changes to the XV that defeated DMP 69-7 last time out, with internationals Vickii Cornborough and Amy Cokayne coming into the front row and Heather Cowell returning to the wing after two weeks away with GB out in Dubai.

Newly-capped England international Lucy Packer starts at scrumhalf while Fi Fletcher and Jade Konkel return to the star-studded pack as Quins look to make it three wins a row in the league.

Mullen said: “Everyone looks forward to Saracens vs Harlequins fixtures and this weekend will be no different. Both teams have a lot of star quality in their squads, with a number of them featuring in the Red Roses squad recently so we know it's going to be a great game to watch for all the fans.”

Saracens top the table after last week's win over . Head coach Alex Austerberry was clearly pleased with what he saw, as he has named an unchanged XV with hooker Kat Evans make her 200th appearance for the club.

Evans, whose fine form saw her receive an international call-up this autumn, said: “It's an honour to be pulling the Saracens shirt on for the 200th time this weekend. The leaps forward that women's rugby has taken in my time at Saracens have been ground breaking.”
