RHONA Lloyd was in scintillating form as Loughborough kicked off the campaign in perfect fashion against Darlington Mowden Park Sharks at the university.
Lloyd scored a hat-trick of tries as Lightning recovered from a first-half deficit with an impressive display after the break to secure an opening-day win.
After a tight opening ten minutes, in which the sides cancelled each other attacks out, Lightning broke the deadlock when Bethan Zeidler off-loaded to Lloyd, who impressively ran past the defence to score.
