Champions! Merthyr take title

MERTHYR are champions of the Welsh Premiership after recording a 48-24 win at Brecon.
That result, coupled with defeat for Pontypridd at Ystrad Rhondda, means the Ironmen now have an unassailable lead at the top of the table.
Hooker Ellis Shipp scored in each half for Merthyr at Brecon, with wing Dafydd Thomas also bagging a brace. Ben Jones, Finley Baker, Jack Kath-rens and Lennon Greg-gains also scored in the eight-try triumph. Jones added four conversions.
The win takes Merthyr on to 97 points with three matches remaining.
