A last-minute penalty from Jac Wilson secured victory for Carmarthen Quins to leapfrog Pontypridd in the table.

Car marthen Quins started strong with winger Corum Nott gathering a cross-field kick from Wilson to score.

Both sides were reduced to 14 following yellow cards to Quins centre Ryan Davies and Ponty second row James Little.

The hosts picked up their first points with Joel Raikes sniping over from a rolling maul.

Fly-half Joseph Scrivens added the conversion to level, before he and Wilson traded penalties as it was level at 10-10 at the break.

For the Quins, a third away win on the bounce was in sight, and they worked hard throughout the second half to get it.

Wilson kicked his second penalty before Pontypridd scored a second try of the after noon with replacement Garyn Daniel crossing the whitewash.

Scrivens kicked a second penalty although Quins winger Nott scored his second, a conversion by Wilson left the scores level in the final few minutes.

Quins were the side applying the pressure in the set-piece and won a scrum penalty, from which Wilson nailed his pressure kick to sealed a morale-boosting victory.
