O’Brien late drop-goal sinks champs

Fly-half and captain Matt O’Brien’s injury-time drop-goal secured a major victory for Newport in the age-old derby against big city rivals Cardiff at the Arms Park.
The Black and Ambers looked to have thrown victory away when they went down to 14-men and allowed Cardiff ’s replacement lock, Joe Peard, to crash over for a late try.
But O’Brien managed to seal the win with his drop goal in injury-time to become only the second team to beat the league leaders in the Premiership this season.
