Former Ireland and Australia head coach Joe Schmidt has been appointed to a newly created consultancy role with Ulster Rugby.

The 60-year-old New Zealander will step into the position of coach development adviser, focusing on strengthening the province’s grassroots and pathway coaching structures rather than working with the senior squad.
